Questions
Fixture Installation
1. Disconnect the electrical supply to the intended luminaire location.
2. Remove the luminaire from the packaging and check for damage incurred during shipping.
3. Check that the voltage noted on the power leads sticker is the same as the power supply voltage.
4. Install the fixture to the plumbizer (see Figure 1):
a) WHEN INSTALLING FIXTURE ONTO KPL10, KPL20, KPL30, & KPL31
Apply sealing compound* to the threads at the end of the plumbizer shaft (1 1/4” NPT external threads). Loosen the 1/4”-20 locking set screw located in the luminaire lid. Assemble plumbizer housing and shaft to the threaded hole at the top of the luminaire and tighten. Lock the plumbizer shaft by tightening the 1/4”-20 locking set screw located in the lid of the luminaire. Note, if the luminaire must be removed from the plumbizer shaft, then the locking set screw must be loosened prior to removing the luminaire.
b) WHEN INSTALLING FIXTURE ONTO KPL40
Apply sealing compound* to the threads at both ends of the pipe nipple. Loosen the 1/4”-20 locking set screws located in both the plumbizer and the luminaire lid. Assemble the pipe nipple to the luminaire and lock in place by tightening the 1/4”-20 locking set screw located in the lid of the luminaire. Assemble the luminaire to the KPL40, lock in place by tightening the 1/4”-20 locking set screw located in the plumbizer. Note, if the luminaire must be removed from the plumbizer shaft, then the locking set screws must be loosened prior to removing the luminaire.
5. Install the plumbizer to the arm (see Figure 1):
a) WHEN INSTALLING KPL10 ONTO KA15 (2” NPT External Thread)
Apply sealing compound* to the pipe threads at the end of the arm. Thread the power supply wires through the plumbizer housing and shaft into the luminaire. Assemble the plumbizer housing to the arm and tighten. Lock the plumbizer housing to the arm by tightening the 1/4”-20 locking set screw located in the plumbizer housing. Align the luminaire to be plumb and lock the plumbizer shaft in place by tightening the (4) 3/8”- 16 locking set screws located in the plumbizer housing (see step 6 for further details). Note, if the plumbizer housing must be removed from the arm, then the locking set screw must be loosened prior to removing the luminaire.
b) WHEN INSTALLING KPL10 ONTO KA14 (2 1/2” NPT External Thread)
Apply sealing compound* to the pipe threads at the end of the arm. Assemble the reducer to the arm, lock in place by tightening the 1/4”-20 locking set screw located in the reducer. Apply sealing compound* to the threads at both ends of the pipe nipple and assemble to the reducer, lock in place by tightening the 1/4”-20 locking set screw located in the reducer. Thread the power supply wires through the plumbizer housing and shaft into the luminaire. Assemble the plumbizer housing to the arm and tighten. Lock the plumbizer housing to the arm by tightening the 1/4”-20 locking set screw located in the plumbizer housing. Align the luminaire to be plumb and lock the plumbizer shaft in place by tightening the (4) 3/8”-16 locking set screws located in the plumbizer housing (see step 6 for further details). Note, if the plumbizer housing must be removed from the arm, then the locking set screw must be loosened prior to removing the luminaire.
c) WHEN INSTALLING KPL10 ONTO KA30 (1 1/2” NPT Internal Thread)
Apply sealing compound* to the pipe threads at the end of the arm and both ends of the pipe nipple. Assemble the pipe nipple to the arm, lock in place by tightening the 1/4”-20 locking set screw located in the arm. Assemble the reducer to the pipe nipple, lock in place by tightening the 1/4”-20 locking set screw located in the reducer. Thread the power supply wires through the plumbizer housing and shaft into the luminaire. Assemble the plumbizer housing to the reducer and tighten. Lock the plumbizer housing to the reducer by tightening the 1/4”-20 locking set screw located in the plumbizer housing. Align the luminaire to be plumb and lock the plumbizer shaft in place by tightening the (4) 3/8”-16 locking set screws located in the plumbizer housing
(see step 6 for further details). Note, if the plumbizer housing must be removed from the arm, then the locking set screw must be loosened prior to removing the luminaire.
d) WHEN INSTALLING KPL20, KPL30, OR KPL40 ONTO A 2” IPS (2 3/8” O.D.) PIPE ARM
Thread the power supply wires through the plumbizer housing and shaft (including pipe nipple if applicable) into the luminaire. Slide the arm into the plumbizer housing and tighten the applicable 3/8”-16 set screws. Insert 3/8”-16 hex bolt into the plumbizer housing and through the hole within the arm. If the holes aren’t aligned, loosen the 3/8”- 16 set screws and adjust the arm. If there isn’t a hole within the arm, keep 3/8”-16 set screws locked and field drill 7/16” outer diameter hole through the arm. Install washers and nut to 3/8”-16 hex bolt to lock into place. Align the luminaire to be plumb and lock the plumbizer shaft in place by tightening the (3) 3/8”-16 locking set screws located in the plumbizer housing (see step 6 for further details).
e) WHEN INSTALLING KPL31 ONTO A 2” IPS (2 3/8” OD) PIPE ARM
Thread the power supply wires through the plumbizer housing and shaft into the luminaire. Slide the arm into the housing and tighten the 3/8”-16 set screw. Lock the plumbizer housing to the arm by tightening the two 3/8”-16 U-Bolts located in the plumbizer housing. Align the luminaire to be plumb and lock the plumbizer shaft in place by tightening the (3) 3/8”-16 locking set screws located in the plumbizer housing (see step 6 for further details).
6. Orientation of the luminaire: Physically turn the luminaire so that the plumbizer shaft rotates within the plumbizer housing until the hinge faces the house side. Tighten the (3) 3/8”-16 locking set screws in the plumbizer housing to lock the plumbizer shaft in place.
7. Re-connect the electrical power supply and check for proper operation.
